DSP BlackRock Money Manager Fund receives Credit Risk Rating mfAAA from ICRA
The rated debt fund carries the lowest credit risk, similar to that associated with long-term debt obligations rated in the highest-credit-quality category. The rating should, however, not be construed as an indication of the prospective performance of the Mutual Fund scheme or of volatility in its returns.
Four of our other fixed income schemes also carry the highest Credit Quality Ratings from CRISIL/ ICRA, namely:
- DSP BlackRock Liquidity Fund – rated AAAf by CRISIL
- DSP BlackRock Floating Rate Fund – rated AAAf by CRISIL
- DSP BlackRock Cash Manager Fund (previously DSP BlackRock Cash Plus Fund) – rated AAAf by CRISIL
- DSP BlackRock Strategic Bond Fund – rated mfAAA by ICRA
These ratings indicate that the funds' portfolio holdings provide very strong protection against losses from credit defaults.
Past performance is no guarantee of future results.
DISCLAIMERS:
ICRA: ICRA’s mutual fund rating methodology is based on evaluating the inherent credit quality of the funds portfolio. As a measure of the credit quality of a debt fund’s assets, ICRA uses the concept of “credit scores”. These scores are based on ICRA’s estimates of credit risk associated with each exposure of the portfolio taking into account its maturity. To quantify the credit risk scores, ICRA uses its database of historical default rates for various rating categories for various maturity buckets. The credit risk ratings incorporate ICRA’s assessment of a debt fund’s published investment objectives and policies, its management characteristics, and the creditworthiness of its investment portfolio. ICRA reviews relevant fund information on an ongoing basis to support its published rating opinions. If the portfolio credit score meets the benchmark of the assigned rating during the review, the rating is retained. In an event that the benchmark credit score is breached, ICRA gives a month’s time to the debt fund manager to bring the portfolio credit score within the benchmark credit score. If the debt fund manager is able to reduce the portfolio credit score within the benchmark credit score, the rating is retained. If the portfolio still continues to breach the benchmark credit score, the rating is revised to reflect the change in credit quality. The rating, as aforesaid, however, should not be treated as a recommendation to buy, sell or hold the units issued by DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund (DSPBRMF). The rating is restricted to the Debt Schemes only. ICRA does not assume any responsibility on its part, for any liability, that may arise consequent to DSPBRMF not complying with any guidelines or directives issued by SEBI or any other mutual fund regulatory body. ICRA reserves the right to suspend, withdraw or revise the above rating at any time on the basis of new information or unavailability of information or such circumstances, which ICRA believes, may have an impact on the aforesaid ratings.
CRISIL: A CRISIL credit quality rating on a bond fund reflects CRISIL's current opinion on the degree of protection offered by the rated instrument from losses related to credit defaults. It does not constitute an audit by CRISIL of the fund house, the scheme, or companies in the schemes' portfolio. CRISIL ratings are based on information provided by the issued or obtained by CRISIL from sources it considers reliable. CRISIL does not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of the information on which the rating is based. A CRISIL rating is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold the related scheme: it does not comment on the market price or suitability for a particular investor. All CRISIL ratings are under surveillance. CRISIL reserves the right to suspend, withdraw or revise its rating at any time, on the basis of any new information or unavailability of information or any other circumstances, which CRISIL believes may have an impact on the rating.
